The Ford Transit Trail (pictured below) is aimed at buyers who need a van that's just a bit tougher than normal and better equipped to deal with low-grip surfaces. This works with the FordPass Pro smartphone app to deliver extra features, including enhanced security via a forthcoming Guard Mode. Plus, all Transit models now get the FordPass Connect on-board modem as standard equipment. Ford offers a decent amount of practical and cosmetic features, further increasing the prospects of the Transit Passenger Van among competitors like the Chevrolet Express Van, the Nissan NV Passenger Van, and the GMC Savana Van.What's more, a new 5.0-tonne Transit variant gives Ford's household name greater payload capacity than ever before. You can also equip the Transit Passenger Van with a diesel engine that has an engine output of 185 horsepower. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. However, if more power is required, one can get a 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 for an additional $1,865. The standard engine on offer is a 3.7L V6 which makes 275 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. A high roof, medium roof, and low roof options further improve the cabin experience while improving functionality as well. With gorgeous, and in fact quite roomy, interiors, the Transit Passenger Van offers seating for up to 15 people. Prices go up to an MSRP of $42,950, with a total of 2 trims being offered available with different weight ratings.
